Is liposuction right for me?

This surgery is indicated for healthy patients who wish to eliminate localized fat to decrease the size of their clothes and feel more comfortable with your body. IT is not used as therapy in reducing weight and this should be clear before the patient or patients undergo this surgery.

What are the requirements to undergo surgery?

Be healthy and be committed to follow the instructions of your surgeon to achieve long-term results. You must have realistic expectations and appropriate to the thin or thick muscular body build. The surgery will give satisfaction, change the size of their clothes but the results are not always one hundred percent unpredictable.

How is the surgery performed?

Liposuction is the most commonly performed surgery in the world and the art has varied constantly while trying to get better results. Currently the laser is a good alternative and can offer a quicker and less painful recovery but is not indicated in all patients.  The fat that is removed with this technique cannot be reused for grafting on the buttocks or other body parts and has increases costs. Conventional liposuction is still very useful and gives good results. Both are performed under general anesthesia or sedation. Local anesthesia is rarely used and even less when working with large volumes of fat. The scars are minimal and are very well camouflaged with both techniques.

How long is the surgery?

Depending on the areas to treat the surgery can last from 1 to 6 hours. It is important to know that if surgery is prolonged, the possibility of complications increases.

Postoperative

The recovery ranges from three days to two weeks and should be complemented with appropriate massage therapy that helps to shrink the tissues and remove small irregularities that remain after surgery.
